It's now faster than ever to create great looking renders right in Rhino. With new intuitive controls and quick render presets, you can focus on design, not the technical details. UVW mapping is one of the most important things that you always need to do to your models whenever they use a texture. Have used diamond and emearld from the gem option. Do i need to give any other setting for this?? OK - almost all of the color for an object of this sort is reflected. The key is going to have your reflective background set to something useful - and Rhino 6 is set up that way by default. Ideally you should just be able to use the default settings, and set the background color to black.

I bet your imported file had previous rendering settings. Click the restore to defaults button on the bottom of the Rendering panel. Any luck? Then open the environment editor, and change the intensity of the background texture the HDR texture until it looks better. You might also want to change the rotation a little bit. Again - if you can post the file, you will probably get better and more specific advice.

Here is a tutorial on creating and editing custom display modes. The modes below can be imported into Rhino through the Rhino Display Options import command.

Shadow line angle? Try 0, 23, 45, 90 degrees. The shadow line does not stair-step at 23 degrees. Blueprint is a combination of a bitmap background, white striped shadows and thick silhouette lines. To use this mode, download the Blueprint. Set the display mode to use this image as the background. This mode is similar to the blueprint mode. It uses an image in the background and white shadows, but uses much larger over-sized widths to simulate more of a sketch mode.
